Practicing yoga on the beach increases wakeful relaxation and internal focus. When you leave the four walls of a studio, your senses wake up! Your sense of sight, smell and touch are activated making you feel more mentally present. The fresh air and smell of the ocean increases your breath awareness, making it easier to link your breath to each posture. The sound of the ocean is a great meditative backdrop and encourages you to move freely.
Watch the waves break and the ocean sparkle during our Morning Beach Yoga class or watch the sun set into the horizon during our Sunset Beach Yoga Class. You may not want to practice in a studio after your first beach yoga class!
