About Maddy McKenna

Always a well-rounded athlete, Maddy began practicing yoga over a decade ago to increase her flexibility and strength as purely a physical cross-training practice. Over time, she has found yoga to be a therapeutic and healthy outlet during the most stressful and challenging seasons of life.

As an instructor, Maddy aims to hold space for students to connect with their authentic selves, challenge limiting beliefs, and improve their well-being. She believes that yoga should be nonjudgmental, safe, and accessible to all, while honoring the roots and traditions of the practice.

Outside of yoga, Maddy is completing her Ph.D. research on tropical climate variability, the El Niño–Southern Oscillation, and its impacts on the jet stream and weather. She is passionate about science education, environmental conservation, and sustainability. In her free time she likes to hike, hang out at the beach, and scuba dive.
